Preventing Credit Card Fraud
Steps you can take to help us prevent fraud at our resorts:
- All credit cards should be swiped using the credit card machines.
- If you have any issue with swiping a card and/or the card reader not working, please notify IT ASAP.
- When swiping the card – match the last four numbers that come up on the screen to the last 4 of the card in your hand. If they do not, call for a manager to assist you as this could be a fraudulent card.
- Verify that the signature on the back of the card matches the name on the card. Do not accept cards that say “See ID” on the back of the card. This is an easy ploy for fraudulent cards. If this is the only card the guest has with them, contact your resort manager on duty to approve this transaction and then add a comment on the reservation regarding this issue.
- Verify that the name on the card matches the guest name on the reservation and on a physical ID card. If they do not, contact your MOD to help verify the situation.
- Make sure the guest signs the registration card and compare that signature with the signature on the back of the credit card.
- If any issues with credit limit responses that come back after the card is swiped, please ask the guest for a different card for use on the deposit authorization amount or for charging the credit card for the guest stay upon check-out.
